Badass Ravi Kumar is a 2025 Indian Hindi-language musical action film[5] directed by Keith Gomes in his feature film directorial debut and produced by Himesh Reshammiya Melodies. It is a spin off film of the 2014 film The Xpose and the second installment in The Xposé Universe, with Himesh Reshammiya reprising his role as Ravi Kumar, while Prabhu Deva, Kirti Kulhari, Simona J, Saurabh Sachdeva, Sanjay Mishra, and Johnny Lever appear in supporting roles.
The film was announced in November 2022 and went on production started in September 2023 and wrapped up in April 2024, with filming held in India, Oman and the United Kingdom. The music is by Reshammiya, with cinematography by Manoj Soni, choreography by Ganesh Acharya and editing by Rameshwar S. Bhagat.[9][5]
Badass Ravi Kumar released on 7 February 2025 and received mixed reviews from critics.
Plot
Syed Bashir, a redheaded Pakistani meets with Carlos Pedro Panther, a dance loving don, in Muscat, to retrieve a reel containing secret information about Indian officials, that has been in the rounds around the world. Carlos's associate Jagawar meets Laila, in India, who killed her husband and now has the reel. She deals with Carlos for the reel in return for an undisclosed item.
Interpol officer Mahavir Ahuja meets with the Delhi police, telling them about Jagawar's apparent plot against India with foreign influence. Ahuja tells Commissioner Awasthi that they might need a badass cop, for which Awasthi tells him about Ravi Kumar.
Ravi Kumar was a police officer, who went in his own ways, neglecting higher orders, even from Awasthi. He was suspended from the police force two times for his haircut. Ravi Kumar was the nephew of Jagawar and had killed his son, Sooraj, as Sooraj had raped and murdered a woman. Ravi Kumar was suspended in suspicion of Sooraj.
Ravi Kumar's father had died by suicide and his brother made him promise that he would take care of his mother and grandmother and would never smoke a cigarette. His brother then disappeared, now arriving in Ravi's dreams, indicating a possible connection with something.
Ravi Kumar has two associates, Rana and Raja, who are sent to Muscat in an unofficial mission. Before going to the airport, he meets Madhubala, his first love.
Madhubala was the sister of Laila, and Ravi Kumar, Laila and Madhubala were close friends. Laila had a crush on Ravi Kumar while Ravi Kumar and Madhubala were loving each other. Laila manipulates Madhubala in breaking up with Ravi Kumar, which leaves both of them heartbroken.
Ravi Kumar, on reaching Muscat, goes to a bar and meets a secret agent, Nisha. Ravi fights in the bar and gets to know that Carlos was dancing with him moments before.
